Nearly 200 IT-OT Executives Convened at the Inaugural Summit for High-Impact Discussions, Hands-On Workshops and Cross-Industry Collaboration

Mumbai, India – India’s drive to modernize its industrial base is bringing renewed attention to operational technology security. This momentum was evident at OTsec India 2025, which brought together nearly 200 senior cybersecurity, engineering and technology leaders from India’s most critical industrial sectors.

The audience comprised CISOs, CIOs, heads of IT and OT security, operations leaders and ICS/SCADA professionals, reflecting strong alignment between strategic leadership and operational practitioners on the need to strengthen OT resilience.

“OTsec India 2025 marks an important step in strengthening India’s industrial cybersecurity ecosystem,” said Kudsia Kaker, managing director at QG Media. “As organizations advance their digital transformation journeys, securing operational environments becomes a national imperative. The strong senior-level participation at this inaugural edition reflects a clear commitment to building resilient, secure and future-ready OT systems across sectors.”

OTsec India 2025 delivered a curated agenda tailored to the needs of India’s industrial ecosystem. The sessions explored the country’s evolving OT threat landscape, sector-specific exposure points and the growing challenges introduced by IT-OT convergence. Speakers addressed core themes such as OT architecture design, segmentation strategies, industrial visibility, ransomware risks and coordinated incident response models for ICS environments.

Panels brought together industry leaders to discuss regulatory expectations, supply chain dependencies and the operational realities of securing brownfield and greenfield industrial plants. Across the program, speakers emphasized practical, adaptable approaches suitable for India’s diverse operational environments, from large-scale manufacturing plants to critical infrastructure networks.

A defining highlight of OTsec India 2025 was the strong engagement in its full-day workshops held on November 28. These included “Building a Defensible Architecture in OT” and “Applied OT Cyber Defense: Incident Response Workshop and Tabletop,” both of which offered hands-on, practitioner-oriented training designed to address real-world OT security challenges.

Designing Defensible OT Architectures

The “Building a Defensible Architecture in OT” workshop provided participants with an end-to-end understanding of how to design and implement defensible industrial networks. The session covered asset discovery and inventory accuracy, risk-based segmentation, industrial DMZ design, secure configuration practices and common misconfigurations that expose OT environments. Attendees worked through sample architectures, evaluated common attack pathways and examined how layered controls can limit lateral movement in ICS systems.

Simulation-Based OT Incident Response Training

The Applied OT Cyber Defense: Incident Response Workshop and Tabletop session immersed participants in a realistic, scenario-driven incident response exercise tailored to India’s industrial environment. Through guided tabletop simulations, attendees navigated ICS intrusion indicators, ransomware propagation across OT zones and the complexities of coordinating IT and OT response teams. The session also provided templates and best practices for communication processes, containment strategies and recovery planning specific to industrial networks.

Both workshops underscored not only theory but also repeatable operational practices. Participants left with actionable frameworks, response models and architecture guidelines they could begin applying immediately within their plants and operations.

Speakers from energy, manufacturing, utilities, logistics, pharmaceuticals and transportation contributed a wide spectrum of sector expertise. Their insights reflected the unique operational constraints, technology life cycles and interdependencies that shape India’s industrial environment.

The program was shaped with the support of a distinguished Steering Committee comprising experienced CISOs and security leaders from organizations including Deepak Fertilisers and Petrochemicals, Jubilant Bhartia Group, Wipro and major public-private infrastructure operators. Their guidance ensured the summit delivered timely, actionable insights grounded in India’s operational realities.

India’s industrial organizations are rapidly integrating automation, cloud services, connected devices and digital process optimization. This evolution, while accelerating growth, also expands the exposure of previously isolated OT assets. The summit reinforced the need for defensible architecture, structured governance, leadership alignment and sector-wide collaboration to build long-term resilience.

“We are pleased to bring OTsec to India at a time when operational technology security has become a critical priority for the region’s industrial organizations,” said Varun Haran, managing director, Asia and Middle East, ISMG. “The strong and meaningful engagement at OTsec India 2025 reflects the industry’s appetite for practical knowledge exchange and collaboration around real-world OT security challenges. Delivered in partnership with QG Media, an ISMG company, the summit underscores the importance of dedicated platforms that support focused dialogue, peer exchange and long-term operational resilience across the Indian OT security community.”

OTsec India 2025 succeeded in creating a dedicated platform for OT practitioners, risk leaders and strategic decision-makers to align on priorities and strengthen India’s collective OT security posture. With strong participation and a highly positive industry response, OTsec India is set to become a key annual platform for advancing OT cybersecurity maturity in the region.
