Summit Spotlights Digital Transformation, Attack Prevention and Board Communication Strategies for Critical Infrastructure
Princeton, NJ – The Cyber Security for Critical Assets LatAm Summit – organized by QG Media, an ISMG company – returns for its fourth edition on November 26 and 27, in São Paulo, Brazil. This summit will be co-located with the LatAm Cyber Summit, creating an integrated platform to address cybersecurity challenges across the region. As Latin American industrial sectors enhance their digital capabilities, the summit will bring together security specialists, technology leaders and sector professionals to strengthen defense strategies against emerging threats. The two-day event will focus on system protection, incident prevention, executive engagement and resource optimization.
Latin America’s critical infrastructure faces unprecedented cybersecurity challenges as digital transformation accelerates across energy, manufacturing and utility sectors. The region’s industrial operations require robust protection strategies to safeguard essential services and maintain economic stability.
Zscaler’s ThreatLabz Mobile, IoT and OT Threat Report 2024 showed a 45% increase in IoT attacks, highlighting rising vulnerabilities within operational systems as networks become increasingly connected. “Securing resources for security initiatives remains a primary concern for operational security directors across Latin America,” said Jennifer Eisenhofer, vice president of events at ISMG. “This year’s summit specifically targets this challenge by convening industry pioneers who will share tested methods for demonstrating risk factors and developing compelling investment proposals. Such knowledge exchange is vital for protecting interconnected industrial systems.”
Addressing industrial security imperatives, Elielson Oliveira, I&T director and BISO at Norsk Hydro, will showcase strategic approaches for protecting advanced industrial operations. His presentation will outline methods for safeguarding infrastructure while enabling technological advancement through connected systems and advanced communications networks.
Cristiane Dias, head of cybersecurity at Necta Gas, will present essential insights from field-tested defense strategies. Her analysis will examine detection methodologies, response protocols and protection frameworks. The session equips participants with tested approaches to enhance security measures based on operational experience.
The summit features an executive panel on building persuasive security proposals, moderated by Dias. Industry experts Thomas Figueiredo, IT infrastructure and cyber security leader at Firjan; Danilo Cabrini, manager of electrical instrumentation and automation at BP Bunge Bioenergia; Felipe Bonomo, CISO at Alpargatas S.A.; and Mayara Tavares, senior cyber security manager of Unilever, will examine investment priorities. The discussion centers on assessment frameworks, professional development and strategic communication with senior leadership.
Addressing resource allocation challenges, Grazziani Sousa, head of presales Brazil at Kaspersky, will present frameworks for securing essential security investments. The session analyzes current industrial threat patterns, demonstrates security breach implications, and outlines methods for aligning protection measures with regulatory requirements.
“The summit’s focus on response readiness and system resilience aligns with these findings, emphasizing robust protection measures for operational environments,” said Kudsia Kaker, managing director of QG Media. “Our emphasis on practical examples and proven defense methods will support organizations in strengthening their security as technology integration accelerates.”
The summit will include sessions examining intelligent security systems, compliance frameworks, cross-functional collaboration methods and system modernization approaches. As organizations address evolving security requirements, the CS4CA LatAm Summit serves as an essential platform for knowledge sharing and collective defense. The event will provide security professionals with proven methods to protect essential systems supporting Latin America’s industrial advancement.
