ISMG Partners With 5G & OT Security Summit 2025 to Strengthen ASEAN’s Cybersecurity Ecosystem
The Three-Day Event Tackles Critical Infrastructure Protection and Regulatory Standardization Across Southeast Asia
Princeton, NJ – ISMG, a global leader in cybersecurity, IT and AI news, research and executive education, has been named an official media partner for the upcoming 5G & OT Security Summit 2025, ASEAN’s premier platform for advancing digital infrastructure security. The summit will take place from July 15 to 17, 2025, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, or KLCC, in Malaysia.
Anchored by the Ministry of Digital, Malaysia, the event underscores the nation’s strong commitment to next-generation connectivity and cyber resilience. YB Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Digital, will officially inaugurate this summit, reinforcing Malaysia’s strategic vision for digital transformation and secure 5G deployment. Supporting this public-sector leadership, Berhad entities – including leading national telecom and infrastructure providers – will feature prominently across keynotes and technical sessions. Their participation reflects Malaysia’s strength in public-private collaboration and its emergence as a regional innovation hub.
As 5G and operational technology become core to national infrastructure, cybersecurity attack surfaces rapidly expand. The summit will unite more than 3,000 CISOs, regulators, engineers and security professionals from across Southeast Asia to tackle this evolving threat landscape. Through over 50 sessions, attendees will explore regulatory trends, zero trust architecture, critical infrastructure protection and frontier technologies that are transforming how nations secure digital infrastructure.
The summit’s featured speakers will address critical security challenges across multiple domains. Anand R. Prasad, partner at Deloitte, will share insights on securing distributed edge nodes in 5G networks. Executives from leading global energy and industrial automation firms will address cyber resilience in the energy sector. Amani Ibrahim, CISO at Deep AI Consulting, will present advancements in AI-driven threat detection. A key policy session will bring together GSMA and ASEAN regulators to discuss regulatory harmonization across the region. A senior cybersecurity executive from a Berhad entity will share practical strategies for deploying zero trust in OT environments.
A major summit highlight will be ISMG’s exclusive executive panel, “Communications and Governance of Cybersecurity,” moderated by Suparna Goswami, executive editor at ISMG. This high-level dialogue will examine the limitations of traditional IT-aligned governance structures in the face of AI-driven threats, ransomware and expanding board-level accountability. Panelists include Alex Ooi, CISO at Certisgroup; Anand R. Prasad, Deloitte; Amani Ibrahim, Deep AI Consulting; and a senior cybersecurity leader from a Berhad entity. The discussion will explore how cybersecurity must evolve into a strategic business enabler embedded within enterprise risk management.
Goswami will also be a panelist in the summit’s signature diversity session, “A Rose Is Still a Rose: Celebrating the Importance of Women in Cybersecurity.” Moderated by Rita Irina, deputy CEO at MyDigital ID Sdn Bhd, the session will feature regional trailblazers including Connie McIntosh, head of security, Ericsson; Anastasia Tikhonova, technical head, APAC, Group-IB; Silke Holtmanns, CEO, Blue Hour Consulting; and Edora binti Ahmad, deputy chief executive of legal management, NACSA. Together, they will examine the critical role of women in shaping cybersecurity innovation and the organizational value of inclusive leadership.
“We’re very happy to be the official media partner for the 5G & OT Security Summit 2025,” said Varun Haran, managing director, Asia and Middle East, ISMG. “ASEAN is at a critical juncture as 5G and OT technologies converge, creating both unprecedented opportunities and complex security challenges. Through this partnership, we aim to spark meaningful conversations, deliver actionable intelligence and empower the region’s cybersecurity leadership.”
Attendees will also experience a live ThreatGEN cyber crisis simulation, gaining hands-on exposure in managing real-world attack scenarios. The summit will showcase more than 80 exhibitors presenting cutting-edge solutions across threat intelligence, secure architecture, OT monitoring and incident response.
We’ll be on the ground at KLCC. Attend our expert panel on Communication and Governance of Cybersecurity – only at the 5G & OT Security Summit 2025.
