Thought Leaders Convene to Explore AI’s Impact, Quantum Threats and Privacy Frontiers

Princeton, NJ – April 29, 2023 – In today’s digitally interconnected world, technological advancements often intertwine with vulnerabilities. Against the backdrop of this rapidly evolving landscape, ISMG’s Cybersecurity Summit: Bengaluru emerges as a catalyst for cybersecurity transformation. Scheduled to take place on May 2, 2024, the event unites technology partners and decision-makers from the IT and cybersecurity fields, creating a dynamic environment where groundbreaking solutions and industry-leading practices occupy center stage.

Thought leaders will delve into cutting-edge topics including the intricacies of generative AI, quantum risks, machine learning, Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, cloud, privacy, continuous threat exposure, and cloud and networking security.

“The convergence of AI, quantum computing and emerging technologies is reshaping the cybersecurity battleground,” said Geetha Nandikotkur, vice president – conferences, Asia, Middle East, and Africa, ISMG. “This summit serves as a critical platform for industry leaders to not only understand these disruptive forces but also to formulate robust strategies that safeguard our digital assets and maintain a competitive edge in an increasingly complex threat environment.”

Deepfakes: A Growing Threat in the AI Era

With the swift evolution of artificial intelligence, deepfakes have become a powerful weapon in the arsenal of threat actors. From 2022 to 2023, the number of deepfakes increased by 1,530% in the APAC region, according to a Sumsub report. Prof. D Janakiram, senior professor – Department of CSE, IIT Madras, will address this concerning trend in his session and explore the surge in cybercriminals using AI to craft deepfake incidents targeting enterprises, weaving together elements of social engineering, financial fraud and emerging technological threats.

Furthermore, the role of a CISO has also evolved significantly in response to the rapidly changing threat landscape. More than 85% CISOs said that their job has undergone a considerable transformation, according to Splunk’s CISO Report. Lt. Gen. Unnikrishnan Nair, national cyber security coordinator at the PMO, Govt. of India, will offer insights into this evolution from a CEO’s perspective, discussing how CISOs are transitioning into growth enablers, addressing inherent shortcomings, and embracing leadership responsibilities.

“The cybersecurity domain is undergoing a paradigm shift, and it is imperative for industry leaders to stay ahead of the curve,” Nandikotkur said.

Cyber Insurance: Mitigating Financial Risks in a Digital Landscape

A report by Fortune Business Insights projected that the global cyber insurance market will grow from $20.88 billion in 2024 to $120.47 billion by 2032. Cyber insurance has now become a vital tool for organizations to mitigate financial losses resulting from cyberattacks. In a panel discussion, Kumar KV, CyberEdBoard member and CIO and CISO, Narayana Health; Krishnamurthy Rajesh, CyberEdBoard member and director – information technology (global), GreyOrange; Lt. Col. Raakesh Thayyil (Retd.), CyberEdBoard member and group head of security and privacy, PropertyGuru Group; and Malini Rao, CISO, DeepLearnCyber.ai will explore how organizations can leverage cyber insurance to safeguard against cyberthreats.

The summit will also feature a compelling discussion between a CISO, DPO, CRO and CIO on the Digital Personal Data Protection Act – India’s pioneering data privacy legislation that imposes a substantial maximum fine of up to $30 million for privacy violations.

This session will also delve into the intersection between security and privacy, exploring the extent to which privacy should be a concern for CISOs, and examining the alignment of business, finance and IT with privacy considerations.

With an impressive lineup of industry leaders, cutting-edge topics and unparalleled networking opportunities, ISMG’s Cybersecurity Summit in Bengaluru serves as a crucial event for organizations to enhance their defenses and adapt to the digital future. Attendees will acquire valuable insights, establish meaningful connections, and leave prepared to address the challenges that lie ahead.
