Reaching the Whole Zero Trust Buying Team
A Zero Trust purchase can involve several people who arrive with different priorities. Security wants a defensible approach to access. IT needs a workable modernization plan. Regional teams need the discussion to reflect the environments they support. Reaching one senior contact is a useful beginning to a much larger conversation.
A global technology and cybersecurity provider faced that challenge as it promoted secure networking, cloud infrastructure and Zero Trust. It needed to engage enterprise security and IT leaders across North America, EMEA and APAC without losing the specificity that makes outreach useful.
Building several ways into the conversation
ISMG combined content syndication and webinars with account-based marketing, retargeting and lead nurturing. Intent optimization helped guide engagement, while sales enablement connected the marketing effort with the team’s subsequent conversations.
The significance of that combination is continuity. Enterprise buyers may encounter an idea well before a project becomes a priority. A program that offers several relevant opportunities to engage can continue the discussion as interests develop.
For a broad Zero Trust and cloud-modernization narrative, that also means recognizing the buying team’s different concerns. The campaign needs a coherent central argument, with enough flexibility to make that argument useful to a security executive and an IT leader in different regions.
ISMG’s role was to coordinate those moving parts around enterprise targeting. Regional reach, intent data and repeated engagement formed part of the same program, giving the provider a way to support a complex buying environment across markets.
Global reach with senior participation
The 2024 vendor program delivered more than 700 leads. C-level, VP and Director roles represented 72.75% of the leads, with more than 355,563 promotional impressions supporting visibility.
Those figures show a substantial concentration of senior roles within the campaign’s reach. The case also highlights why volume alone would have been an incomplete measure of success. The provider needed relevant participation across a distributed enterprise audience.
For marketers selling a change in security architecture, the useful question is how the program supports the wider buying conversation. This case demonstrates the value of planning for that complexity from the beginning, then carrying the message across regions and stages of engagement.
