Healthcare and Cybersecurity Leaders to Strategize Protecting Patient Care and Critical Operations

Princeton, NJ From artificial intelligence governance to cyber resilience, healthcare leaders are confronting a rapidly evolving risk landscape. These critical priorities will be the focus of HealthSec Summit USA 2026, taking place from June 9 to 10 in Boston, as industry experts come together to discuss the strategies needed to secure the future of healthcare.

The summit comes at a pivotal moment for the healthcare industry. According to the FBI’s latest Internet Crime Report, healthcare and public health were the most targeted critical infrastructure sectors in 2025, recording 642 cyber incidents, including 460 ransomware attacks and 182 data breaches. As cyber risks continue to evolve, healthcare leaders are reassessing how they govern emerging technologies, strengthen operational resilience and maximize the impact of cybersecurity investments.

Among the featured sessions is “AI and Cybersecurity in Healthcare: Innovation Under Scrutiny,” where Nick Sturgeon of Community Health Network, Ravi Thatavarthy of Rite Aid, Garima Maheshwari of Johnson & Johnson, Alexandra Decknick of Bristol Myers Squibb, Jared Hamilton of Crowe and Shasta Turney of Ping Identity will examine emerging AI-driven cyber risks and the challenges of deploying AI securely and responsibly in healthcare.

As AI adoption accelerates, governance and accountability are becoming key priorities for healthcare organizations. In “From Experimentation to Accountability: Governing AI in Healthcare,” Krista Arndt, associate CISO at St. Luke’s University Health Network, will share practical lessons on establishing governance frameworks.

Beyond governance, healthcare organizations are increasingly focused on strengthening their ability to respond to and recover from cyber incidents. In “Achieving Cyber Resilience in Healthcare: From Prevention to Rapid Recovery,” Heather Costa, director of technology resilience at Mayo Clinic, will discuss how healthcare organizations can improve incident readiness, minimize disruption and accelerate recovery while maintaining continuity of care.

With security teams facing growing demands and finite resources, maximizing the value of cybersecurity investments has become a critical priority. The panel discussion “Optimizing Cybersecurity Spend in Healthcare: Balancing Cost, Risk and Innovation” will explore how healthcare leaders can prioritize investments, optimize existing security capabilities and align spending with the risks that matter most in patient care and business operations.

“Healthcare organizations today are navigating a rapidly evolving landscape where cyber resilience, AI governance and strategic investment decisions are becoming business-critical priorities,” said Kudsia Kaker, managing director at QG Media, an ISMG company. “HealthSec Summit USA provides a forum for industry leaders to share practical experiences and actionable strategies that will help healthcare organizations strengthen security, manage risk and support innovation in an increasingly digital environment.”

Bringing together CISOs, healthcare technology executives, risk leaders and cybersecurity practitioners from across the United States, HealthSec Summit USA 2026 will offer attendees the opportunity to learn from peers, examine emerging challenges and discover practical approaches to securing the future of healthcare.
