Industry Leaders to Address DPDP Compliance, Ransomware Defense and AI-Powered Security Solutions
Princeton, NJ – ISMG will host its premier Cybersecurity Summit: Mumbai on Nov. 13, 2024, bringing together distinguished security leaders to address the rapidly evolving digital threat landscape. The summit will provide a comprehensive platform for security professionals to explore innovative defense strategies and regulatory compliance measures.
As organizations grapple with increasing digitization challenges, Jaspal Singh Sawhney, chief information security and privacy officer at Tata Communications, will spearhead the plenary session on India’s Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act. The session will delve into how traditional security and privacy frameworks have become outdated in the face of digital transformation. Security leaders will examine the complexities of establishing appropriate frameworks when terms such as “data protection” and “privacy” carry multiple interpretations across different sectors. The discussion will outline essential strategies for enterprises to achieve compliance while maintaining operational efficiency.
In a pivotal keynote address, AVM Devesh Vatsa, advisor cyber security and critical technologies, Data Security Council of India, will present crucial insights into winning the cyberwar in today’s digitally disruptive era. The session will explore how cyberwarfare has fundamentally altered the security landscape, with adversaries targeting critical infrastructure, spreading disinformation and threatening economic stability. Security leaders will learn strategies to protect critical assets and develop proactive defense mechanisms that align with contemporary threat scenarios.
“In crafting this summit’s agenda, we’ve moved beyond theoretical discussions to focus on real-world implementation strategies that address today’s most pressing security challenges. Our goal is to create an environment where security leaders can engage in meaningful dialogue, share battle-tested approaches, and forge collaborative relationships,” said Geetha Nandikotkur, vice president and conference chair – Asia, Middle East and Africa, ISMG. “The summit’s agenda, combined with the caliber of the speakers who bring decades of hands-on experience, will provide attendees with practical insights they can immediately apply to strengthen their organization’s security foundations.”
The summit will feature an in-depth panel discussion on artificial intelligence in cybersecurity, bringing together industry experts Abhijit Chakravarty, executive vice president of networks and cyber security at Kotak Mahindra Bank; Khushbu Jain, managing partner at Ark Legal; and Diwakar Raut, CISO at BSE India. The panel will examine the transformative role of AI-powered tools in threat detection and response, exploring real-time mitigation strategies and the challenges organizations face when implementing AI solutions in their security frameworks.
The specialized fireside chat, featuring insights from Deval Mazmudar, cybersecurity advisory at TJSB Bank and CyberEdBoard member; Pawan Chawla, CISO and data privacy and protection officer at Tata AIA Life Insurance and CyberEdBoard member; and Sandesh Jadhav, global data privacy officer at Wipro, will address the growing concerns around application programming interface (API) security. As API exploits emerge as one of the fastest-growing threat vectors in AI-driven enterprises, the discussion will focus on practical approaches to securing APIs while maintaining business innovation and enhanced customer experience.
The summit will also include a crucial session on ransomware defense, providing security practitioners with practical insights into preemptive measures and response strategies. This segment will demonstrate real-world attack scenarios, helping organizations understand attack progression patterns and develop effective recovery protocols to minimize impact and ensure business continuity.
Adding a strategic dimension to the event, Air Vice Marshal (Dr) Devesh Vatsa, advisor for cyber security and critical technologies at the Data Security Council of India (DSCI), will conduct a master class on developing tomorrow’s cyber warriors. The session will focus on bridging the industry’s skills gap, combining technical expertise with essential leadership qualities, and drawing parallels between military operations and cyber defense strategies.
“In an era where cybersecurity challenges are increasingly sophisticated and interconnected, our Cybersecurity Summit: Mumbai serves as a critical nexus for knowledge exchange and strategic planning,” said Jennifer Eisenhofer, VP of events at ISMG. “Through hands-on master class, interactive panel discussions and real-world case studies, we’re equipping security leaders with proven strategies and innovative approaches to protect their organizations against emerging threats while building resilient security frameworks for the future.”
