CS4CA LATAM Summit to Spotlight Industrial Cyber Resilience by Uniting People, Process and Technology
The Two-Day Program Will Address IT-OT Governance Challenges, AI-Driven Threats and Plant-Floor Continuity
Princeton, NJ – QG Media, an ISMG company, is pleased to announce the return of its Cyber Security for Critical Assets LATAM Summit to São Paulo on Oct. 27 and 28. The sixth edition of the summit will convene IT and OT security leaders from across Latin America’s critical infrastructure sectors to address the region’s evolving OT security challenges.
According to CrowdStrike’s 2025 Latin America Threat Landscape Report, the region has seen an uptick in nation-state operations, with China-nexus adversaries targeting government agencies, telecom companies and military entities. The findings underscore that LATAM is no longer a peripheral geography – it’s a strategic target for both financially and politically motivated adversaries.
To address these challenges, security professionals from the oil and gas, utilities, mining, manufacturing, transportation, and healthcare sectors will examine the technical, organizational and governance gaps hindering efforts to secure increasingly connected industrial environments across the region.
Day one will feature the panel “Is True IT-OT Cybersecurity Integration Possible for Latin American Critical Infrastructure Companies?” Moderated by Miguel Nascimento, CISO and head of IT infrastructure at Aperam, the panel will include Marcelo Assumpção, CISO and data protection officer at Elera Renewables; Daniel Morales, corporate automation manager at Braskem; Danilo Cabrini, corporate manager of electrical instrumentation and automation at bp bioenergy; and Cleber Guimarães Ferreira, security officer and cybersecurity at Klabin. The panelists will assess whether IT-OT convergence is improving security outcomes or expanding the digital attack surface. They will also examine the maturity of current governance frameworks, policies and technical controls in hybrid environments.
On the same day, Thadeu Da Silva Tourinho, regional CISO at Tereos, will present the case study “Leveraging Open-Source Monitoring for OT Security: Visibility, Asset Health and Real-Time Alerting.” He will examine how open-source monitoring architectures can help organizations maintain visibility across legacy and modern OT assets. The session will explore approaches to tracking asset health, monitoring critical resources, and establishing real-time alerting and response workflows, including the use of communication channels such as WhatsApp for incident notifications.
On day two, Alexandre Lattaro, business information security officer, and Marcelo Gianetti, cyber-security for operations senior manager, at Kenvue, will present the case study “Adapting Cyber Defense for the Age of AI in OT – An Extensive Road Map.” They will present a road map for adapting OT cyber defenses as attackers increasingly incorporate artificial intelligence into their operations. The session will explore the technical implications of AI-enabled threats and approaches for developing comprehensive defense strategies that account for the evolving threat landscape.
“In Latin America, IT-OT convergence isn’t optional anymore – it’s how critical infrastructure operators stay resilient against threats that ignore the line between corporate networks and the plant floor,” said Kudsia Kaker, managing director at QG Media. “The CS4CA LATAM Summit is where those teams come together to close that gap.”
The two-day program will help attendees pinpoint the areas where cross-industry cooperation is most vital – from establishing true IT-OT convergence to safeguarding plant-floor business continuity during a geopolitical crisis or a state-sponsored cyberattack.
