Africa Virtual Cybersecurity Summit to Examine AI Risk and Cyber Resilience

Princeton, NJ – Cybersecurity across Africa and worldwide has become a business resilience imperative as rapid digital transformation, artificial intelligence adoption and increasingly interconnected ecosystems reshape enterprise risk. Against this backdrop, ISMG is hosting the Africa Virtual Cybersecurity Summit 2026 on Aug. 6, with on-demand access available on Aug. 7.

The summit will bring together CISOs, security leaders, risk executives and industry experts to examine how organizations are strengthening cyber resilience while navigating AI-driven threats, regulatory change and growing operational complexity. The agenda covers AI governance, critical infrastructure protection, supply chain security, digital payments, cloud and identity security, data sovereignty, and the evolving role of security leadership in driving business outcomes.

The agenda was developed with guidance from an advisory committee comprising Dr. Daniel Adaramola, director, Society for AI; Chinenye Chizea, independent consultant; Galeboe Mogotsi, CIO, Central University of Technology; and Tunde Dada, group head IT/BCM, inq.digital.

“Security leaders across Africa are defending on every front at once, from AI governance and critical infrastructure to mobile money fraud, cloud and identity, all while regulation grows more complex and boards expect clear answers on business risk,” said Geetha Nandikotkur, vice president and conference chair for Asia, Middle East and Africa at ISMG. “No one navigates that alone. This summit brings CISOs and security leaders across the continent together to share what’s working, pressure-test ideas with peers and walk away with guidance they can apply right away.”

Obadare Peter Adewale, chief visionary officer of Digital Encode Limited, will open the summit with a keynote examining how AI is outpacing traditional security models and what organizations must do to strengthen governance, improve oversight and prepare for fast-evolving regulatory expectations.

Building on these themes, the agenda will then turn to the threats reshaping Africa’s cyber landscape. Sessions will explore OT security for critical infrastructure, supply chain resilience across interconnected digital ecosystems, zero trust for hybrid and multi-cloud environments, cybercrime targeting mobile money platforms, identity management at scale and the governance challenges of operating across multiple jurisdictions.

The summit will conclude with a leadership panel on the CISO’s expanding mandate as boards increasingly rely on security leaders to guide enterprise risk, resilience and business strategy. Panelists will discuss how security executives can communicate cyber risk in business terms, influence strategic decisions and demonstrate measurable business value.

Through expert presentations and peer-led discussions, attendees will gain a practical perspective into the region’s threat landscape, operational priorities and leadership challenges shaping cybersecurity across Africa, along with guidance they can apply within their organizations.
